A workaholic's Journey to Calm

Hi, I’m Jessie—a workaholic who’s never really known when to stop.

My mind is always racing with 100 different moving parts, and taking a break has never come naturally to me.

Travel has been my go-to way to step away from work—physically, at least. In fact, that’s where our brand name, Layover and Co., comes from. But here’s the truth: no matter where I go, my brain just won’t stop working. I’m constantly thinking, organizing, and, let’s be honest, losing track of the little things. Take sunglasses and hats, for example—how many times have I asked myself, “Where did I put that?”

Or bookmarks—color-coded, leather bookmarks became my go-to for keeping my books, papers, and desk in order. But why leather? Because I’ve worked hard, and I want the things I buy to last—both in quality and in style.

And then there’s golf.

For me, golf became one of the rare ways I could clear my head. Sure, there’s plenty of frustration in the game (if you’ve ever played, you know exactly what I mean), but it’s also a chance to stay present and de-clutter my mind—at least while I’m out there. That’s why I created our golf iron covers: to bring a bit of beauty and practicality to something I truly love.

That’s how this journey began: solving my own problems with thoughtful, beautiful, and durable solutions. I’ve created more work for myself, sure—but I’m loving every moment of it.
