The most popular iron are Type A since blade irons have a traditional club that features metal construction and minimal weighting. While Type B are cavity-back irons, which have a larger club head design.
Blade Irons (Type A)
Blade irons are a traditional-looking club with a thin top-down look, smaller sweet spot. The club head offset is much smaller than a cavity-back iron.

Cavity-back Irons (Type B)
Cavity-back irons have a hold/cavity in the back which allows the club to be more stable during off-center strikes. They tend to have a thicker and bulkier sole compared to blade irons.
